This is a electrotherapeutic treatment, which involves the flow of direct current in tanks between two electrodes.
The positioning of the electrodes influences the therapeutic effect. When the current flows, you consciously feel mild tingling and pricking sensations. In the skin under the electrodes, blood vessels narrow and then dilate for a short time.
The vessels in the deeper muscles also dilate as a result of irritating the autonomic nervous system receptors in the skin.
The treatment increases blood circulation, increases the excitability of the neuromuscular system, reduces muscle tension, reduces swelling, accelerates the wound healing process, stimulates bone growth and relieves pain.
Treatment duration 15 minutes.
The amount is determined individually by the attending physician.
