It is an electrotherapeutic treatment which aim is to induce contraction of a muscle or an entire group of muscles using a pulsed current.
Electrostimulation is used primarily in physical therapy for damaged muscles, paralysis and flaccid paresis.
This treatment aims to prevent degeneration of the denervated muscle.
Duration of the treatment: 15 minutes,
The number of treatments is determined individually by the attending physician.
Indications:
- Muscle weakness,
- Effect on muscle metabolism and blood flow (muscle pump),
- Muscle atrophy after immobilization of joints after fractures, dislocations,
- partial muscle paralysis,
- Muscle paresis,
- Stimulation of the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall to improve breathing.
